Frequently Asked Questions
How our multi-model AI works, what happens to your data, and how usage is billed
-
Which AI models does Feedoptimise support?
Feedoptimise is a multi-model product feed optimization platform. You can run your feed tasks on OpenAI's ChatGPT, Google's Gemini, Anthropic's Claude, xAI's Grok and DeepSeek, or use self-hosted open-source models where data privacy is a priority. You are not locked into a single provider, and you are free to mix and match models across your feeds.
-
What product attributes can I optimize with AI?
Any attribute in your feed. The most common are titles, descriptions, product types and categories, which AI can rewrite, enrich or map to channel taxonomies. You can also extract missing attributes, such as color, size, gender, material or brand, from your existing text or even from product images, and fill the gaps in bulk across your entire catalog. Beyond text, AI translations let you localise your feed into any language, and AI image tools can generate color variants, on-model shots and channel-compliant crops.
-
Can I use different LLMs for different tasks?
Yes. Because the platform is multi-LLM, you can pick the model that performs best for each job, for example one model for product title rewrites and another for translations, and switch at any time without changing your feed setup.
-
What happens if an AI provider retires a model?
Your feeds keep running, and previously generated content continues to be served from cache. If a provider retires a model, Feedoptimise automatically fails over to the closest like-for-like model they offer, so there is no interruption to your feed tasks. You are then free to review and switch to a different model whenever it suits you.
-
Do I need technical knowledge to use the AI features?
No. Model selection is a dropdown choice within your feed setup, and our team can configure and manage it for you as part of the managed service.
-
Is my product data used to train the AI models?
Feedoptimise connects to each AI provider using your own API key, so your data is handled under your direct agreement with that provider. Commercial API terms from the major providers generally state that API data is not used for model training, but these terms vary by provider and tier and can change, so we recommend reviewing the current terms of any provider you enable. Feedoptimise itself does not use your product data to train AI models. For clients with strict data requirements, we offer self-hosted open-source models where your data never leaves the infrastructure at all.
-
How is AI usage billed?
AI optimization features are included in every Feedoptimise plan. You bring your own API key (BYOK) for each provider, so the underlying usage is billed directly by that provider at their standard rates, with no markup from Feedoptimise. To keep those costs low, generated content is cached and only re-processed when your source data changes, so you are not paying for the same optimization twice. Self-hosted models are free to use within a monthly fair use limit of two optimization runs per product on your plan, for example 2,000 runs per month on a plan with a 1,000 product limit. Limits reset each month, and run quotas can be extended at additional cost if you need more.
